Highbury Area Guide

By Daniel Rose Residential Ltd – Estate Agents in Highbury

Highbury is one of North London’s most sought-after residential neighbourhoods, known for its elegant period homes, village atmosphere and exceptional green space. Located within the London Borough of Islington, Highbury offers the perfect balance between peaceful residential living and fast access to Central London.

At Daniel Rose Residential Ltd, we specialise in the Highbury property market, providing expert guidance to buyers, sellers and landlords across this highly desirable area.

Location & Transport

Highbury sits just north of Angel and west of Canonbury, bordering Finsbury Park and Holloway. Its excellent connectivity is one of the main reasons for sustained buyer demand.

The area is served by:

  • Highbury & Islington Station
  • Arsenal Underground Station
  • Drayton Park (National Rail)

From Highbury & Islington, King’s Cross is just one stop away, while Oxford Circus can be reached in around 10 minutes via the Victoria Line. These fast transport links make Highbury especially attractive to professionals working in the City and West End.

Property in Highbury

Highbury is best known for its impressive Victorian and Georgian architecture. The area offers:

  • Grand Victorian terraces
  • Semi-detached villas
  • Period conversions
  • Mansion blocks
  • Modern apartments

Homes surrounding Highbury Fields are particularly desirable. Larger family houses close to the park often achieve premium prices due to their location, size and access to green space.

Highbury Square, the redevelopment of Arsenal’s former stadium, provides contemporary apartments with landscaped communal gardens, attracting professionals and investors seeking modern living in a prime location.

At Daniel Rose Residential Ltd, we understand that property values in Highbury can vary significantly depending on street, proximity to the park and station access. Accurate pricing requires detailed local expertise.

Green Space & Lifestyle

Highbury offers a quieter, more residential feel than neighbouring Angel while still benefiting from excellent amenities.

Highbury Fields is the largest open space in the borough and acts as the centre of the community. It features tennis courts, playgrounds and wide open lawns, making it particularly popular with families.

Highbury Barn provides a charming village-style high street with independent shops, delis and cafés, enhancing the area’s strong sense of community.

Schools & Rental Demand

Highbury is highly attractive to families due to well-regarded schools such as Highbury Fields School and other strong local primary options. School catchments can significantly influence buyer decisions and property values.

The rental market remains robust, driven by professionals seeking high-quality accommodation close to transport links. One- and two-bedroom flats near Highbury & Islington Station are consistently in demand.

Why Choose Daniel Rose Residential Ltd?

Highbury is a competitive and desirable property market. Achieving the best outcome requires accurate valuations, strong marketing and skilled negotiation.

Daniel Rose Residential Ltd offers tailored advice and in-depth local knowledge to help clients buy, sell or let property successfully in Highbury. Whether you are moving to a larger family home near Highbury Fields or investing in a well-located apartment, we provide expert guidance at every stage of the process.
